Metra Non-Ferrous Metals, Ltd.
Born in 1974 from the ashes of the last zinc rolling mill to operate in the UK, Metra took up the mantle of supplying the product to a small market of traditional metal roofing contractors and metal fabricators throughout the British Isles.
The Zinc, as it is today, had to be imported from Europe where the usage of this product, especially in France and Germany, far exceeded what was used here. Since those early days Metra gradually prospered as the use of hard metals increased and architects saw how the superb aesthetic capabilities of not only Zinc, but Copper and Stainless Steel, gave them endless design possibilities.
From humble beginnings 35 years ago, we moved in May 2008, from our small warehouse in Hoddesdon, to a new pupose built state of the art building about a mile from the original site.
